WMHBT looks forward to welcoming people from across the sector to our 2024 Conference: Repurposing Churches.

We have a great panel of expert speakers and topics to make for a fascinating and informative day, which we hope will both inspire and equip you to tackle the unique challenges of repurposing historic church buildings, whether redundant and requiring a creative future, or in use but in need of rejuvenation.

11:30 – Mark Carter, Diocese of Worcester Church Buildings Officer: Ethics of reuse and what should, can, shouldn’t and can’t be done.

13:15 – Chris Smith, Chair of Historic Chapels Trust and Joseph Atkins, Deputy Project Manager of HCT Disposals Programme: Funding focus with a view from a strategic project scale.

14:15 – Isabel Assaly, Head of Regeneration and Consultancy at Churches Conservation Trust: Long term project viability and grounding use in the community.
